Federal Communications Commission Chair Jessica Rosenworcel and Curtis LeGeyt, CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters, met at the NAB Show on April 25 to discuss subjects such as the importance of broadcast TV and radio’s connection to local communities. “What makes you unique is that you’re local. And what’s even more extraordinary is that you’re trusted because of it,” said Rosenworcel.
The National Radio Systems Committee announced a new set of Emergency Alert System guidelines, “Best Practices for Delivering Emergency Alerts and Information for FM Radio Broadcasters,” at the 2022 NAB Show. The guidelines don’t require anything of broadcasters, but contain technical info and background info on Federal Communications Commission rules.
Broadcasters can use 5G to improve remote production, boost confidence about connectivity and efficiently bring content to consumers on any device, said speakers at the NAB Show. The show also featured a number of tools that broadcasters can use for 5G support.
