NAB’s agenda in Congress includes passing the Local Journalism Sustainability Act, increasing ownership diversity and working out performance royalty standards.

Federal Communications Commission Chair Jessica Rosenworcel and Curtis LeGeyt, CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters, met at the NAB Show on April 25 to discuss subjects such as the importance of broadcast TV and radio’s connection to local communities. “What makes you unique is that you’re local. And what’s even more extraordinary is that you’re trusted because of it,” said Rosenworcel.

The National Radio Systems Committee announced a new set of Emergency Alert System guidelines, “Best Practices for Delivering Emergency Alerts and Information for FM Radio Broadcasters,” at the 2022 NAB Show. The guidelines don’t require anything of broadcasters, but contain technical info and background info on Federal Communications Commission rules.
