Panel 3 discussion by David Buller: Addressing Health Disparities in Vulnerable Populations Conference: The Prospect for Web 2.0 Technologies for Engagement, Communication and Dissemination in the Era of Patient-Centered Outcomes Research. To view all presentations, go to: go.usa.gov The conference explored the key tasks of the Effective Health Care (EHC) Program and proposed Web 2.0 solutions that can enhance public interaction throughout the research process, expand the dissemination of EHC Program products, increase the use of EHC Program materials at the point of care, and boost the comprehension and use of evidence among vulnerable and disparate populations.

Panel: Juliëtte Sterkens, Emma McAuley Audiologists and other dispensers of hearing aids can play a critical role in helping their customers to “get into the hearing loop,” including optimizing their telecoils for use with hearing loops, providing written information and resources, and demonstrating hearing loops in their own offices. Dispensing professionals already involved “in the hearing loop” will share their own experiences and recommendations for other dispensing professionals, consumers and hearing aid manufacturers.
