LAST DANCE_2012.03.mpg

This is Part 3 (the final part) of the 2012 “Last Dance” video, shot on the Cotter, Arkansas High School campus just before prom time. This performance is the brain-child of Judy Fagan, a Drug and Alcohol Safety Education Officer with Health Resources of Arkansas. She was looking for a new approach to impress high school students with the dangers of drinking and driving. She organized the first “Last Dance” at Cotter High School in 2002, and over the next 10 years, she led the charge in 10 additional “Last Dance” events in four different counties. Officers with Arkansas State Police, Cotter Police Department and Baxter County Sheriff’s Office participated, along with Cotter firefighters and Baxter Regional Medical Center paramedics, to make the event as realistic as possible. Air Evac Lifeteam provided a medical helicopter to transport victims of the crash. “Last Dance” is a realistic enactment of a prom night car crash. Students play the parts of drivers and passengers. I have produced and directed the video since the very first one in Cotter in 2002. It has been my honor and privilege to produce these multi-camera presentations which are distributed freely to area and regional schools systems. In addition, these event serve a secondary purpose by providing much-needed training for first responders, law enforcement and fire department personnel. They can learn how to co-ordinate emergency services without the fear of loss of life. It is a win/win situation for everyone
