Firewalk 2012
Local politicians Jim Murphy MP and Ken Macintosh MSP took part in a firewalk with proceeds of over £21000 going to WizoUK and The Targu Mures Trust. There were no tricks involved, with Mr Murphy and Mr Macintosh walking barefoot on embers between 700 and 1100 degrees Fahrenheit, as did fellow firewalker Chassidic Rabbi Moshe Rubin. WizoUK raises funds for a multi cultural centre for vulnerable children and families in southern Israel. And the Targu Mures Trust raises money to meet the medical and home care needs of Holocaust survivors in Romania.
